Your Breath Is Always Here
There is something almost absurdly simple about breath.
It is with us from the beginning, yet we can spend years barely noticing it.
Breath changes when we are afraid. It changes when we desire, run, sleep, make love, speak, cry or become angry. It knows our emotional state before our vocabulary catches up.
And unlike many things in life, breath sits at a fascinating border: it happens automatically, but we can also meet it consciously.
A few slower breaths can change the texture of a moment.
Not solve everything.
Not make us enlightened.
Just create a little more room between stimulus and response.
That room matters.
It is often where choice returns.
For me, conscious breathing is not about escaping life. It is a way of entering it more fully.
Again.
And again.
One breath at a time.
