The World Is Still Speaking

I like the idea that life is constantly communicating with us.

Not necessarily in a supernatural way.

More subtly.

Through coincidences. Repeated images. A sentence overheard at exactly the right moment. A dream that stays with you all morning. An animal appearing when your mind is somewhere else. A sudden intuition you cannot logically justify.

Most of these moments are easy to dismiss.

And perhaps they mean nothing.

But perhaps meaning is not always something we discover. Sometimes it is something we create through attention.

The awakened human keeps a certain poetic availability toward the world.

Not gullibility.
Not superstition.

Availability.

A willingness to imagine that reality may contain more layers than the immediately useful one.

Life becomes very different when everything no longer has to be explained before it can be experienced.
